The
Boomerang XL2 is a quick plane to assemble at the flying field.
It also breaks down easily and fast to go in your car. Construction
is unusual in that the fuselage and booms are fiberglass,
but to keep the weight down to achieve the staggering aerobatic
performance the wings and tail plane (stab.) surfaces are
built up with a Profilm (Oracover) finish all round. Two carbon
fiber wing spars and use of carbon fiber in the built up structures
gives massive strength, but the bare airframe weight is only
7.7Kgs. (17 lbs.) giving an all up dry weight of around 26
to 28lbs. depending on the Turbine/Radio & servos/Retracts
installation used. With the big wing area, the wing loading
is between 2.0 & 2.4lbs per square foot, which helps to
explain the performance. As with all Boomerang designs, there
is complete access to the entire fuselage interior from the
nose to the turbine via the virtually full length top hatch,
so it is easy to carry out any maintenance required.Two schemes
are available, Stars and Stripes and Thunderbird.

here with BVM "O"Ring fuel fittings (available option $21.50 extra).
