LONGGO batteries based on lithium polymer are made
from select, matched lithium polymer cells (LiPo).
The (per utility patented) type of battery fabrication
ensures maximum service life and safety as well as
the greatest convenience when fastening. Ready-made
screw down points with rubber bushings (similar to
a servo) ensures an elastic, vibration-reducing suspension.
For fastening, the batteries are screwed to a small
wood block with 3 or 4 screws - and that's it.
The LONGGO batteries of
the "Serie 2005" series carry a connection
cable of approximately 30 cm (12 inch) in length to
connect to DPSI systems (RV, TWIN, LR, BIC). An other MPX high current
connector which is mounted on the PCB (printed circuit
board) serves as charging connector. An extra feature
is the exposed center tab of both cells which is connected
to the outer pins of the MPX connector. Each cell
can now be measured individually and the battery can
be charged by the "balancer charging cable".
This provides for highest reliability and lifetime
even after many charging cycles. All LONGGO batteries
can be charged with 1C within 90 minutes! Recharge
on the air field therefore poses no problem.
LONGGO batteries can be connected in parallel for charging! This
means to connect a V-cable to the chargers output.
Each end of the V-cable is then connected to the charging
connector of the LONGGO batteries. For both LONGGO
batteries, the positive and the negative poles are
connected by the V-cable. This is possible, because
LONGGO batteries are always equally discharged by
the DPSI. Therefore the voltage of both cells is always
identical. Furthermore, LiPo batteries exhibit a charging
characteristic curve which allows for this kind of
charging. The charging current can be doubled in this
particular case (because 2 cells have identical voltages
but doubled capacity when in parallel). The chosen
number of 2 cells (i.e. 7.4 volts nominal voltage
respectively 8.4 volts charging voltage) stays always
the same. When charging in parallel, using the LONGOO
balancer charging cable is not possible. |
